My Guitar Rig

Guitars

Gibson ES-339claire-300x200

This is my Gibson with an LR Baggs T-Bridge & CTRL-X preamp. I put together my own wiring plan for this with a lot of help from the Tech Support at LR Baggs. (they are great) and the end result has been fantastic.

Currently I use the guitar in stereo- one signal for all acoustic that goes through a Para-DI. And one signal to my electric pedal board.

Ibanez Destroyer (early 80's)big-red-after

This guitar has been sanded down, cut up, routed out, had the tremelo blocked, then un-blocked, and multiple changes of pickups ending with a set of duncans. A Jazz at the neck position and a JB at the bridge, both with separate Series-cut-parallel wiring switching.

The 25 1/2 inch scale gives it some strat feel and sound, so it is very versatile for switching quickly between clean strat and really hot humbucker tone.

Pedals

SRB 808 2in1srb-n-crybaby-300x226

A custom made overdrive the guys at Effects Pedal Boutique in Watkinsville, GA. This is a two channel over drive with some great options and a true vintage sound. The A channel uses a JRC4558D chip and channel B uses an RC4558P chip.

Dunlop CryBaby - everyone needs a wah pedal some time in their life.

Amplification

On stage I use a Vox Tonelab SE and run stereo lines directly to the sound board.tonelabse-300x104

In the back of my car (seriously) I keep a Roland Micro-Cube. It will run on 6 AA batteries forever and sounds phenomenal. It's really handy for practicing or playing with a friend whenever and wherever.

Other Guitars

True Tone Electric -truetone1-300x181

This is an early 60's TrueTone Speed Demon. The neck has been replaced, but everything else is stock. These old soapbar single coil pickups have a really unique sound, and full hollow body adds to the character, making this guitar very different in sound from my others. The tones coming from this guitar would be right at home on an old Beatles or Jonny Cash record.

I also have a 60's TrueTone 3/4 size acoustic that is a lot of fun to play.

The Falcon is a project guitar. You can see pictures of the progress on my main page. This axe is gettingimg_0532 a total overhaul, from the knobs and tuners to the finish and the frets.
